About Hollow Oak
Hollow Oak is an independent, locally owned bookstore and lifestyle shop centered around analog living. We offer a highly curated selection of books, stationery, art, bath & body products, homeware, toys, games, and other beautiful, interesting things. We seek out handmade, human- crafted, small-batch, design-forward, highest-quality, screen-free goods. We do not carry art, books, music, or anything else generated by AI. Only the good stuff, baby! Beyond the retail shop, we look forward to building community through events, workshops, and classes – programming like book clubs, author talks, craft nights, knitting classes, printmaking workshops, and more. Above all, we’re creating a beautiful, welcoming space for everyone – employees and customers – to enjoy, and we’re going to have fun doing it!

- has prior customer service experience; retail experience is preferred but not required
What You’ll Do
- Welcome customers as they enter the shop
- Answer questions, share product knowledge, and make thoughtful recommendations
- Use Shopify POS to process purchases, returns, and other transactions
- Merchandise and maintain neat and inviting store displays
- Help keep the shop clean and tidy
- Inspect and process incoming merchandise
- Fulfill online orders
- Help prepare for and host classes and special events
- Assist with social media content creation as needed

Pay: $15-$18 per hour, based on relevant experience
Pay frequency: Every other week
Availability requirements: Daytime, weekends, some evenings, some holidays
Paid Training: Yes
